Justin Bieber- Boyfriend Music video Analysis

The music video starts off with an extreme close up of Justin's eyes then a close up of a speaker then another extreme close up of Justin's lips. After this there is a long shot of justin's figure in front of a white circle but his figure is blacked out and the lighting is blue. From this there are very short cantered angles of Justin and a girl.

There is then a close up of Justin on a phone, then a medium shot of two girls in a car which I then discovered the song is non-diegetic. The screen blacks out then theres tracking of Justin driving a car, then a close up of his face. The sound is now dietetic then theres a close up of a speaker beating in slow motion and water jumps up. After this there is a zoom in of Justin getting out the car and then theres framing.

There is then an aerial shot of justin drifting in the car and there is various close ups and panning to the right. After this there is various close ups of all the girls and a tilt of one of the girls getting out of the car. After this there is a medium shot of Justin holding onto a girl then there are various jump cuts of close up and medium shots of girls and boys holding each other and dancing. Justin is playing the guitar in the centre of them then there is framing. After this there is a medium shot of Justin holding his girl then a close up of them whilst singing

'Keep me round your arm girl, i'll never let you go.' Then after this there are multiple jump cuts from Justin and his girl to other couples around them.

There is a long shot of Justin dancing while couples are around him and there is more framing and straight after there is a medium shot of one of the girls dancing to a boy, then the boy doing the same back. There is then a medium shot of Justin's girl grabbing him and pulling him towards him whilst he;s singing 'Never let me go.' After this theres another jump cut from Justin to another couple.

Theres a close up of Justin and his girl in the car whilst he sings 'You're all i need girl.' There is a shallow focus of Justin playing on his guitar on his car and the lighting is yellow. There is a final angle which is a low angle of Justin dancing then a close up of him and his girl in the car leaning in to kiss when the screen blacks out and his 'BELIEVE' logo shows up on the end of the music video.

P-diddy Music Video Analysis

When the music video begins there is an establishing shot of a dark city at night with lights on which shows this could be night life and the city is alive partying. It moves on to a close up of a clock which reads '04:30' then the camera pans right showing P-diddy and a girl asleep in bed then over looking P-Diddy. After this there is another pan of an escalade car then it jump cuts to a zoom in and aerial shot of a mobile the starts ringing, there is also framing to the left which shows that P-Diddy is on that side. There is a straight cut after this and there is a medium shot of P-Diddy jumping up from his bed, this shows me that he has a very hectic life style. From here it cross cuts to Nicole and there is a close up of her less when she gets out of the car in an alleyway and she's walking to the back door of a club. There is a close up of her lips then a long shot of her at the door, there is a pink neon light outside the club which could suggest female association? There is another close up of Nicole's face and she's in the club. It cross cuts back to P-Diddy who is still in bed making out he;s not ready to leave yet, there is a more framing of this too and there is a blue neon light, which could relate to the pink neon light which could suggest contrasting female and male. There is more framing to the left of P-Diddy which could suggest he is ready to leave soon. Then it cuts to s lot of short takes of Nicole then cuts back to P-Diddy ready and one of the girls stroking his gold chain. When it cross cuts back to Nicole in the club there are more short takes and this suggests she is waiting for P-Diddy. There is then tracking of P-Diddy with one girl in front and a girl behind him walking through the back of the club, then there is a jump cut to Nicole with her fist on her chest which could show that her heart is beating fast. It cross cuts back to P-Diddy and there is a close up of his hand on the back of the girl in fronts back which suggests he is protecting her. There is more framing and space to the right of him. There is a dissolve when he entries the club which tells me that theres a connection between P-Diddy and Nicole. There is a medium shot of Nicole and she sings,

'When will you make your move' which is a shot to P-Diddy then there is a cross cut to P-Diddy who is centrally framed in a chair then cross cuts to nicole were there is a tilt on her eyes which suggests she's being seductive. There is another cross cut of nicole looking at him and he nods and Nicole looks alone. There is a medium shot of P-Diddy sitting with one of the girls and when the other girl sits he moves in close to her and has his hand on her lap. There is a low angle of P-Diddy which shows he is dominant. There is shots of P-Diddy dancing and it cross cuts to Nicole as she gets up and leave. It cross cuts back to P-Diddy and there is a medium shot of him watching Nicole leave and the two girls with him start to undress him a bit and when he leaves there is two more blue neon lights, one dark and one light which suggests P-Diddy is the dominant male in this video. When P-Diddy is being loosened you hear the lyrics

'Don't stop, lets rock' which suggests he won't stop till he has Nicole. At the end there are medium shots of P-Diddy seducing Nicole. When P-Diddy is next to the stairs, the stairs frame the shot and the colour fades by the stairs. After this there is a high angle of Nicole looking up at the stairs smiling seductively. There is a close up of Nicole's legs then her legs frame the shot with Diddy underneath and this is a sexual connotation; this is also a shallow focus because Diddy is close even though he is far away. It goes to a close up of Diddy who is blacked out, clicking his fingers and behind him there is a spot of light, this shows that he is ready. It goes back to framing again and as Diddy jumps and pushes his arms Nicole's legs move to as if he;s opening her legs this is also a sexual connotation. There is a close up of Nicole's face showing emotion. There is a shot of P-Diddy in the dark again with a spot of light behind him and smoke then he leaves, then there is a long shot of Nicole following him, There is then an aerial shot of the maze which suggests romantic connotation; then it goes to cross cuts of Nicole and P-Diddy walking through the maze, P-Diddy looks comfortable although Nicole looks afraid/nervous because she's holding the walls for support this may suggest she's scared of bumping into P-Diddy; this is also a lot of short takes. There are visual effects of the maze exploding and there are fireworks and this happens when they both walk in the middle which suggests their emotions are the cause of the explosion. 

There are blue lights when they are standing together which suggests that P-Diddy is the dominant male, and they are now in casual clothing. There are then a selection of medium shots and close up of them both dancing seductively then when Nicole leaves him as she turns around there is framing because Diddy is to her left but this is also a 2shot which suggests that P-Diddy won't let Nicole escape him.
